We are New Orbits.
New orbits is a collaborative project consisting of three musicians / producers: all with our roots in Umeå, Sweden.
The musical style is varied and flexible with grooves, moods and melodies mixed together, inspired by anything and everything that resonates with us.
We like to be involved throughout the entire creative process, and together as a collective we write the music, mix, arrange and produce our music together.
At the moment we are reconstructing our home here on the web, so things might look a bit messy for a while. Please bear with us.

Our music
Our main focus is of course to compose, record and perform our own music. While our catalog is not too extensive as of yet, more music is waiting to be released. You can listen to some of our songs on Spotify or your streaming service of choice.
New Orbits & BMK
Impossible is nothing. Not even arranging our music for a marching band type orchestra with 50 members. From Norway called BMK. With both pre-recorded loops and live-looping. Performing at a rock-club and Opera house. All you need is well, someone to arrange the music (Jonas), a loveable and somewhat crazy Norwegian orchestra, with an equally loveable and somewhat crazy leader (Hans-Kristian). That and an open-mind and a diminutive ability for long term thinking (all of us).
But we did it, and we hope to do it again!
Jazzyoga
Since we started playing together we have performed our version of Jazzyoga. As the name implies we combine jazz and yoga, improvising to the movements of the yogis. Lately we have collaborated with the talented singer and yoga-instructor Lisa Lestander.
Swedish news outlet Västerbottens Kuriren described our concept as “In a few minutes Lisa Lestander and the trio New orbits, with mantras, groove and floating melodies have transported us to a parallell universe of jazz and yoga…”
Adidas Terrex
Together with the ingenious group “The Bunch” Andreas did a recomposed version of our song Gula Xemgin for Adidas Terrex campaign with Frida Karlsson. Nature, running and beautiful cinematography. Whats not to love?
